전에 쓴 글에 오해하시는 분들 많던데...... 규정을 지키지 말자고는 절대 말한 적 없습니다. 그저 뻘짓이라고 했지 ^^;;
오늘 아침에 모범 사례가 있어서 하나 또 올립니다만.......
솔직히 이 글 제목은 "우회전 일시정지가 뻘짓인 이유 그 세번째"입니다.
제 앞차량이 우회전 깜박이도 잘 켜고 있었고....... 그런데 뒷차인 저는 제 앞차가 왜 우회전하던 도중 멈춘건지 약 1초간 몰랐습니다.
나중에 보니........ 저 건너편에서 "횡단보도를 건너려는 보행자"를 발견한 것이었다는 걸 알았습니다.
해당 장소는 보행신호시간만큼 직진이 켜지고, 보행신호 시간도 매우 짧습니다. 따라서, 저는 이 번 신호에는 갈 수 없는 게 맞았죠.. 하지만, 조금 위험하게 도로 중앙 좌측으로 추월을 했습니다. 부득이 하게...
그런데, 이게 왜 뻘짓이냐.......구요?????
아래 사진을 보시면, 사고가 난 지점은 해당차량 우측입니다. 거긴 저 운전자는 죽었다 깨어나도 못볼겁니다. 사각지대일테니까요.
즉, 볼 수 없는 걸 보기 위해 뭘해야하는지 잘 모르겠습니다. 그냥 횡단보도 신호 끝날때까지 정지하는 게 최선이겠죵?
하지만, 그러다가 좌측도로 직진신호가 떨어지면........ 우회전은 또 물건너 갑니다. 다음 신호 아니면 그 다음신호....... 보행자가 존재하지 않을 때 가야만 합니다 ^^;;
아래 그림처럼...... 기존 우회전 시스템에서 운전자는 1번과 2번 지점에서 각각 "일시정지" 또는 "정지"해야 합니다.
현재 규정으로는 1번지점에서는 적색신호일때 "무조건 일시정지"하면 되고, 2번지점은 보행하려는 보행자 머리카락만 보여도 "정지"하고, 보행자가 완전히 사라진 후 출발해야 합니다.
저 보행자는 정지한 트럭에게 미안한지........ 횡단보도에서 뛰기까지 하시네요... 빨리 건너야 이 차가 갈테니까요... 그런 배려가 만드는 위험이란... ㅠㅠ
위와 같이 쓰면서......... 아무리 생각해도 뻘짓 그 자체입니다. 위 두줄 정도가 정확히 현재 경찰이 시행하는 일시정지 단속 위반입니다. 그것만 지키시면 됩니다. 아무리 뻘짓이라도요 ^^
번외로......... 횡단보도를 이격하면 된다는 사람이 정말 많은데요........ 좌상부를 보시면 아셔야 하는 데, 아마 모르시고 계속 그 주장을 하겠지 싶기는 합니다.
뭐냐하면......... 횡단보도를 이격하면, 그 곳에 정지한 차량은 가각부(건축물 모따기 부분)에서 우측 도로를 볼 수가 없습니다. 어느정도 나와서 우회전 하는 도중에나 다른 횡단보도가 보일겁니다... 그리고, 그 차는 이미 우회전이 끝나고 약 20미터를 감속중이 아닌 가속중에 보행자를 만나게 되겠죠.
그리고, 이중정지선이 생겨납니다. 2~30년 전에는 참 많았던 이중정지선은....... 정말 사고가 많은 곳이었습니다. 사고 잦은 곳은 거의 대부분 이중정지선이었고, 그래서 이중정지선인 곳은 거의 다 없앴죵....... 그런데 또 만들면 되겠군용...^^
그리고, 신호등도 추가로 필요합니다. 대략 7~8년 전인가? 안양시에서 최초로 신호등을 횡단보도에 설치하면서 사고가 감소했다는 이유로 설치하기 시작한 신호등이 있습니다. 정지하면 머리위에 있어서 잘 안보이는 그 신호등.
그런데, 20미터쯤 전방에 또 하나를 설치해야 하겠네요... 안그러면 아마 그 곳 보행자가 위험해 질테니까요.
그러면, 각 교차로에서 진행방향에 똑 같은 신호등이 세개씩 있으면 될테고......

It seems many of you misunderstood my previous post... I absolutely never said we shouldn't follow the rules. I just said it was a pointless thing to do. ^^;;
I am posting another example because there was a good case this morning...
Honestly, the title of this post should be "The Third Reason Why Stopping Before Turning Right Is Pointless."
The car in front of me had its right turn signal on properly... However, as the car behind, I didn't know for about a second why the car in front stopped in the middle of turning right.
Later, I realized... that they had spotted a "pedestrian trying to cross the crosswalk" on the other side.
At that locatoin, the straight-ahead signal is on for the duration of the pedestrian signal, and the pedestrian signal time is very short. Therefore, it was correct that I couldn't proceed during this signal... However, I overtook them somewhat dangerously on the left side of the center of the road. I had no choice...
But why is this pointless... you ask?????
If you look at the photo below, the accident occurred on the right side of the vehicle involved. That driver wouldn't be able to see that spot even if they died and came back to life. It must be a blind spot.
In other words, I'm not sure what I should do to see something that can't be seen. I suppose just stopping until the crosswalk signal ends is the best option, right?
However, if the straight-ahead signal on the left road turns green while I'm doing that... turning right is out of the question again. It has to be the next signal or the one after that... I have to proceed only when there are no pedestrians. ^^;;
As shown in the figure below... under the existing right-turn system, drivers must "stop" or "stop" at points 1 and 2, respectively.
Under current regulations, at point 1, you must "stop unconditionally" when the signal is red, and at point 2, you must "stop" even if you only see a pedestrian's hair, and proceed only after the pedestrian has completely disappeared.
That pedestrian must have felt sorry for the stopped truck... because they even ran across the crosswalk... because they had to cross quickly for the truck to move... The danger created by such consideration... ㅠㅠ
Writing as above... no matter how much I think about it, it is pure nonsense. Those two lines above are exactly the violations of the temporary stop enforcement currently enforced by the police. You just need to follow those. Even if it is a complete waste of time. ^^
As an aside... there are so many people who say that you just need to move the crosswalk further away... You should know this if you look at the top left corner, but I suspect they probably don't know and keep making that argument.
What I mean is... if you move the crosswalk further away, the vehicle stopped there cannot see the road to the right from the corner (the chamfered part of the building). They will only see another crosswalk after coming out a certain distance and while turning right... And, that car will encounter the pedestrian while accelerating for about 20 meters after the right turn is already finished, rather than decelerating.
And, a double stop line is created. The double stop lines that were so common 20 to 30 years ago... were truly accident-prone areas. Almost all accident-prone spots had double stop lines, so we removed almost all of them... But I guess we can just build them again...^^
Also, additional traffic lights are needed. Was it about 7 or 8 years ago? There is a type of traffic light that Anyang City started installing because accidents decreased after it was the first to be installed at crosswalks. That traffic light that is overhead and hard to see when you stop.
However, we would need to install another one about 20 meters ahead... Otherwise, the pedestrians there would likely be in danger.
Then, having three identical traffic lights in the direction of travel at each intersection should suffice...
If I were into stocks, I would buy shares in companies that make traffic signals. ^&^
