우크라 당국이 허위 선전한단 얘기가 서구 매체서
종종 나오자 러시아군측 손실에 대해 오릭스란
민간 사이트를 전가의 보도처럼 내세우기도 하던데요.
오릭스가 주장하는 러시아군측 손실 전차 중 T-64BV
증거 링크를 보여드리겠습니다.
러시아는 이번 전쟁서 대부분 장비가 유사한 우크라군과
자기 장비를 식별하려고 흰 페인트로 Z나 V나 O를 칠해
놨습니다.
아래 사진들 보면 아실 수 있듯 Z,V,O가 안 보이고
너무 멀리서 찍혀서 뭔 전차인지 알 수 없는 것들도 있습니다.
그런데다, T-64BV는 소련 때 우크라 하르키우 소재
제작국서 제작된 T-64 파생형으로 우크라군도 보유중인
전차거든요.
한편, 오릭스 사이트 창립자겸 주필인 Stizn Mitzer는
17살 때 지루한 일상 타파하려 시리아 내전에 관심
가졌고 2013년에 오릭스란 이름 붙인 블로그를
처음 만들었답니다.
올해 스물여덟 밖에 안 된 애송이란 거고 무슨
정보기관 출신도 아니고 전문적 군사지식 교육
받은 적도 없는 사람입니다.
그런데, 전쟁 참상 보는 거에 지쳤다며 작년
8월에 절필 선언하고 오릭스 공식 트위터도
폐쇄시켰습니다.
폐쇄시켰으면 전황 집계도 중단하는 게 맞을 텐데
어떻게 된 게 Jakub Janovsky와 몇몇이 집계는
계속하고 있더라구요.

알리는 자기 트윗에 우크라에 충분한 무기 주는 게
체코 국민들 세금의 최고 사용처라고 했습니다.
이 사람은 러시아 조롱하는 트윗도 많이 올렸구요.
즉, 일방적으로 우크라편 드는 사람이 올리는
집계가 과연 신빙성이 있겠냔 거죠.
Putting Down The Pen: Reflecting On Oryx’s Journey

What Oryx was meant to be initially was a remedy for my teenage
boredom at the age of 17. Back then, I was still in high school,
and the manageable workload along with my recent departure from
playing football left me with an abundance of spare time.
An interest in the Arab Spring, in particular the Libyan and Syrian
Revolutions, led me to spend more and more time scouring the
internet for updates. As the Syrian Revolution evolved into protracted
civil war, I decided to create a Twitter account to more closely
monitor the unfolding events.
One of the accounts I followed was that of Eliot Higgins, who began
reporting on the Syrian Civil War on his Brown Moses Blog. After
asking him one day if he was going to report on the use of Italian-
upgraded T-72 tanks in the war.
That evening, I created a blog, picked a name (Oryx for the majestic
animal, and Spioenkop, Afrikaans for 'spy hill', as a place from where
one can watch events unfold around the world) and published my
first article on Syria's T-72 MBTs.
It was the 16th of February 2013, and little did I realise that the next
decade would transform Oryx from a remedy for boredom into a project
that would consume the majority of my time and energy.
In fact, I had already contemplated ending Oryx by the spring of 2022,
but the Russian invasion of Ukraine infused me with renewed energy to
keep going.
But 1.5 years later, I have lost my spark. My interest in anything military
is fading, and the constant pressure to keep up with everything is exhausting.
I'm tired of all the death and destruction.

As a #Czech citizen, I want to say that arming #Ukraine is the single
best use of taxpayer money for decades. My only criticism is that the
West isn’t sending enough, fast enough. Ukraine is paying for political
posturing with the lives of its sons and daughters.
